Kevin Feige Debunks Marvel v DC War Rumors

When it comes to movies, the superhero genre has become one of the industry's most lucrative ventures. Studios like Marvel and DC Entertainment continue to churn out blockbusters, leaving some of the world's most iconic superheroes to duke it out at the box office. Thanks to fan-wars and competing release dates, a rivalry of epic proportions has seemingly existed between the two comic studios - but don't be fooled by the hype. According to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, there is no bad blood between the company and DC.

Earlier today, the Marvel executive shut down rumors about the studio's feud with DC Entertainment during a chat with AlloCine. Feige appeared to promote Spider-Man: Homecoming, and the producer said the success of DC movies ultimately adds to Marvel's own riches.

"There's not really a rivalry. The rivalry is much more amongst the press, I think," Feige confessed.

"Geoff Johns is a very good friend of mine. We grew up together in the business and recently celebrated Richard Donner, who we both used to work for," he continued. "So, I applaud all the success he's had. I really just look at it as a fan. When the movies perform well and are well received, it's good for us – which is why I'm always rooting for them."

Most recently, Feige says he has been impressed by the DCEU's latest addition. Wonder Woman debuted earlier this month to rave reviews, and Feige says he's glad the feature has blown away misconceptions about female-led superhero flicks.

If you still doubt Marvel and DC's relationship, then you only need to look at the Academy for proof. Recently, the film organization awarded Richard Donner for his contributions to movies, and his work with Superman was spotlighted. Both Feige and Johns united at the event to share their mutual love for Superman: The Movie, and the touching moment helped heal a rift which has separated Marvel and DC fans for years now.
