Marvel's The Inhumans First Teaser Poster Released

Marvel Television, ABC, and IMAX have released the first teaser art poster for Marvel's The Inhumans.

The poster features the white accents usually found on the costume of Black Bolt, the king of the Inhumans. Somewhat ironically, there was some fan outcry when set photos of Black Bolt showed him wearing a costume that lacked the white lining.

In Marvel's The Inhumans, after the Royal Family of Inhumans is splintered by a military coup, they barely escape to Hawaii where their surprising interactions with the lush world and humanity around them may prove to not only save them, but Earth itself.

Marvel Entertainment revealed Marvel's The Inhumans will be an eight-episodes "series." The use of the word "series" makes it unclear if Marvel's The Inhumans is being considered a limited event or has potential to be renewed.

Marvel's The Inhumans is a truly unique project. Once expected to be a Marvel Studios film (an idea that Marvel Studios has yet to officially banish), Marvel The Inhumans will now become the first network television program to debut in IMAX theaters before premiering on television.

Marvel Television and ABC's Marvel's Agents of SHIELD has been dealing with Inhumans through most of its four seasons, but Marvel's The Inhumans will focus on Marvel's most popular Inhuman characters, the Inhuman Royal Family.

As king of the Inhumans, Blackagar Boltagon is the leader of the Royal Family and the entire Inhuman people. Terrigenesis bestowed upon Black Bolt a voice that can level a mountain or destroy a city with just a whisper. As such, he rules silently, a trait that will carry over into the television series. Black Bolt traditionally has the aid of his wife, Queen Medusa, to translate his silent commands to others.

The Inhumans were created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in the pages of Fantastic Four during the early days of the Marvel Universe. The secretive civilization was genetically engineered by the alien Kree during Earth's pre-history. The Inhumans have mostly lived in seclusion in the city of Attilan, which periodically relocates to different areas on Earth and sometimes to the moon. More recently, the creation of two roving Terrigen Mist clouds have caused a sudden surge in Inhuman population and forced the Royals to leave the shadows and begin integrating with human society.

Marvel's The Inhumans stars Anson Mount, Serinda Swan, Iwan Rheon, Ken Leung, Eme Ikwuakor, Isabelle Cornish, Mike Moh, Sonya Balmores and Ellen Woglom.

Roel Reine will direct the first two episodes, which will debut in IMAX theaters on Labor Day weekend before airing on ABC in the fall.
