Ryan Reynolds Shares First Image From Deadpool 2 Set

Ryan Reynolds has shared the first official image from the set of Deadpool 2.

The image shows Reynolds in Deadpool costume relaxing in front of the X-Mansion, confirming earlier reports that the production was filming at the location. See it below

Reynolds' Instagram update is just as irreverent as you would expect from Marvel's "Merc with a Mouth."

"Dropped by X-Mansion. Looked closely for Beast's lawn bombs before taking well deserved nap," Reynolds wrote.

As reported earlier, Deadpool 2 is now filming at Hatley Castle in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Hatley Castle has served as Charles Xavier's mansion turned mutant school in X2: X-Men United, X-Men: The Last Stand, and last year's Deadpool, when Deadpool rang the doorbell and told Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand) that she and her teacher, Colossus (Stefan Kapičić), were needed for the final battle against Ajax (Ed Skrein) and Angel Dust (Gina Carano).

The X-Mansion is the traditional home base of the X-Men that doubles as a school for young mutants learning to control their powers. Victoria will be standing in for Westchester, New York, where the mansion is located in-universe. The X-Mansion is notorious for being destroyed and rebuilt on a pretty regular basis thanks to supervillains attacking the place.

David Leitch (John Wick) will direct the sequel, taking over for original Deadpool director Tim Miller. Fox is reportedly aiming for a June start of production in Vancouver.

Ryan Reynolds will return as Wade Wilson, a.k.a. Deadpool, the Merc with a Mouth. For the sequel, he'll be joined by Josh Brolin as Cable. Cable was co-created by Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld and Louise Simonson. He has often been paired with Deadpool as his grim, serious demeanor serves as the perfect foil to Deadpool's crude and zany humor. The duo headlined an ongoing comic book series, Cable & Deadpool, for 50 issues.

Atlanta star Zazie Beetz has also been cast in Deadpool 2. She will play Domino, a mutant with probability manipulation abilities that endows her with improbably good luck. In the Marvel Comics Universe, Domino was a member of Cable's mercenary crew, Six Pack, and one of his early love interests.

Jack Kesy has been cast in an undisclosed villain role, speculated to be Black Tom Cassidy. Shioli Kutsuna has also joined the production in an undisclosed "key" role.

Deadpool 2 opens in theaters on June 1, 2018.
