San Diego Comic Con 2016 - All The News From Day 3

It's the biggest pop culture event of the year and ComicBook.com is covering the show from all angles. There is a lot going on at the four-day fandom celebration, and Saturday (Day 3) tends to be prime time for big headlines.Today we're expecting some major announcements from Warner Bros. and their DC Extended Universe; The CW's DC TV Universe (Flash, Arrow, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow); Gotham, DC's red-headed TV cousin; and of course, Marvel's ever-expanding Cinematic Universe.

First Official Justice League Trailer!

Warner Bros. brought their entire Justice League actor lineup to Hall H (Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Mamoa and Ray Fisher) - along with the directors of their respective solo films. In addition to seeing the actors and directors assembled, we got a first official image of the Justice League in costume together in an official trailer!!!

Wonder Woman SDCC Trailer Released!

The first trailer for Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman movie was released. It looks funny, action packed, epic and... just watch it!

Suicide Squad Gets One Last Awesome Trailer

A year ago, Suicide Squad made a big first impression with a hauntingly awesome SDCC first look trailer. A year later, we got a final look trailer before the movie hits theaters in August. Still looks awesome.

The Killing Joke Screenwriter Explains Controversial Sex Scene

The animated adaptation of Alan Moore's The Killing Joke has gained a bit of controversy for landing an R-rating and changing the source material - and as was revealed during SDCC, one of those changes was a DOOZY (Hint: It involves Batman v Sex). Gotham continues to be a hit show for Fox, and after "Rise of the Villains" season 3will continue to adapt (some say bastardize) popular Batman comic mythos, by dipping into the recent (and fairly acclaimed) storyline, "The Court of Owls."

Captain Marvel Revealed!

Marvel jumped into the race to launch big female-driven superhero movie properties, by announcing that Academy Award-nominated actress Brie Larson (Room) will play Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel. In addition to the casting confirmation, Marvel revealed a new Captain Marvel movie logo.

Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 Details!

Guardians of the Galaxy is a hit franchise in its own right, so the highly-anticipated sequel film was received with open arms at SDCC, and the cast and crew did not disappoint! From having a gang of Ravagers rush the stage, to the continued witty, funny banter between the cast, to premiering footage that wowed the crowd, GotGv2 arguably stole the show during the Marvel panel. We also learned SO MUCH during the panel and press rooms that we had to make a mini list to share it all:

Spider-Man: Homecoming Trailer and Villain Revealed

Tom Holland's Spider-Man was a big scene-stealer in Captain America: Civil War, so fans are now onboard with the idea get yet another (but hopefully more successful big-screen reboot. The first trailer and panel for Spider-Man: Homecoming revealed a lot; here's more about what we learned. For those wondering: Vulture will indeed be one of the villains in the film.

Doctor Strange New Trailer & Poster

Black Panther Cast & Characters Revealed

Thanks to Captain America: Civil War, anticipation for Marvel's Black Panther movie has grown exponentially. At SDCC, the film (directed by Creed's Ryan Coogler) got a fresh PR makeover, with a shiny new logo and a breakdown of who the majority black supporting cast - Lupita Nyong'o, Michael B. Jordan and Walking Dead's Danai Gurira - will be playing in the film.

Hulk's Gladiator Armor from Thor: Ragnarok Revealed

The Hulk will be joining Thor on a cosmic quest in Thor: Ragnarok, and word is that the movie will adapt part of the famous "Planet Hulk" storyline for the big screen. Star Trek

The 50th anniversary was celebrated in proper fashion at SDCC2016; a special panel brought together icons of the long-running series, including the Original Captain Kirk himself, William Shatner, who got an immense amount of love from the crowd in Hall H. Looking ahead to the franchise's future, it was announced that the upcoming TV series from Hannibal's Bryan Fuller will be called Star Trek: Discovery, and will feature a brand new ship.
