Captain America's Fate Revealed In Secret Empire Omega #1

The Captain Americain Secret Empire is a far cry from the trusted icon of years past, and the big question is, can he still be redeemed?

Spoilers incoming for Secret Empire, so if you don't want to know you need to turn back now.

That is the central theme to Secret Empire Omega #1, and Marvel has released the cover of the anticipated conclusions, showing a Captain America shedding his newest Hydra inspired suit.

"It's not over yet! While Hydra may have fallen, there's still a nation to rebuild, friends to be buried and an emotional toll to be tallied," said SVP & Executive Editor, Tom Brevoort. "To say nothing of the question of what comes next for Steve Rogers—how can he possibly move forward, possibly be redeemed, after everything he's just been through?"

As Brevoort indicates, Hydra does eventually fall, but it isn't revealed by whom or how the vanishing will play into Rogers fate. Fans knew Rogers would eventually return to his more inspirational roots but weren't sure how or when. Not at least the latter part of that equation has been answered.

Secret Empire doesn't just end in Omega though, as there will be plenty of fallout from Cap's terror-filled reign. Those will be addressed in special Aftermath tie-in books, and you can see the descriptions for those and Omega #1 below.

Omega #1 hits stores later this year, and will also include a Michael Turner variant cover, which can be seen along with the regular cover in the gallery.
