Sideshow Unveils Thanos Throne Maquette

Collectors of toys, statues, and everything nice: bust out your wallets because the maquette to end maquettes has arrived. Thanos — the primary antagonist behind next year's Avengers: Infinity War — will now appear as a maquette courtesy of the folks at Sideshow Collectibles.

This absolutely stunning maquette stands in at a whopping 20" tall and comes complete with the Mad Titan's prized possession — the Infinity Gauntlet. And yes, it includes all six Infinity Gems.

Taking over two years to bring to life, this sculpture is the end result of work completed by a fourteen member design team led by sideshow art director David Igo.

"We went back to that source material from Jim Starlin or from Ron Lim to find those key aspects to the character...that make them who they are, and try to evolve the design," Igo reflected.

In the maquette, Thanos is seen sitting on his throne with the Infinity Gauntlet in tow. The level of detail included in all aspects of the maquette is breathtaking, to say the least.

"We wanted it to tell a story, of course it's a nod to all of Thanos's vanquished foes, but it's also a monument to his love of Mistress Death," said Sideshow concept artist Zac Roane. "I think fans will love pouring over all the little details we worked into it."

Having made his presence felt in the Marvel Cinematic Universe just by post-credits appearances and brief cameos so far, Thano is sure to still the show in next year's Infinity War epic.

The maquette is currently available for pre-order through the Sideshow Collectibles website. To see the statue in all its glory, be sure to check out the massive gallery below.
