Captain America Cameos In New Spider-Man: Homecoming Trailer

Things may have been tense between Captain American and Iron Man during Civil War, but there was little bad blood between the first Avenger and Spider-Man. Sure, the latter hero was tasked with webbing up the patriotic hero's comrades, but the two men bonded over their love for New York and its boroughs. Many fans fawned over Peter Parker's struck reaction to Captain America when the two met last year, so plenty wondered if the web-swinging hero would reference the spangled hero in his upcoming film.

Well, it looks like Spider-Man: Homecoming can do one better. Tomorrow, the new trailer for the superhero film will drop, but fans at Cinema Con got a sneak-peek of the video not long ago. And, according to ComicBook's Brandon Davis, Captain America has a brief cameo in the trailer.

In the video, fans watch as Peter Parker adjusts back to life in New York following his stint in Germany with Iron Man. At one point in the trailer, the boy is shown in class watching a video with other students. The video then shows Captain America in his red-and-blue Avengers costume, and Peter can be seen looked at the screen with a somewhat bored expression.

After all, what is seeing the hero on-screen once you've met the real deal in person?

It is not clear whether Chris Evans was asked to film a whole new scene for Spider-Man, but the actor is unmistakable in the clip. If the star was asked to help out, it would not be the first time. In Thor: The Dark World, Evans lent himself for a cameo as well. Captain America was brought into the film via Loki when the trickster god shape-shifted into the Avenger to annoy Thor.

A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.

The cast includes Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Tyne Daly, Bokeem Woodbine, with Marisa Tomei, and Robert Downey Jr. It also includes Jon Favreau, Martin Starr, Kenneth Choi, Michael Mando, Selenis Leyva, Isabella Amara, Jorge Lendeborg, Jr., JJ Totah, and Hannibal Buress.

Spider-Man: Homecoming currently holds an impressive 4.06/5 in our user anticipation ratings! How excited are you to see the film? Let us know by rating your anticipation, below!

Spider-Man: Homecoming opens in theaters on July 7, 2017.
