While Spider-Man has gone through three different cinematic iterations in the last 10 years, it seems that the upcoming Spidey film is the most anticipated of them all.

There is a massive amount of hype surrounding Spider-Man: Homecoming, and much of that is due to the involvement of Marvel. After the studio scored the ability to incorporate Peter Parker in the MCU, all bets were off.

Tom Holland debuted his version of Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War, and fans couldn't seem to get enough. Holland's casting was nearly perfect, and so was the announcement of Michael Keaton portraying the legendary villain, Vulture.

Adrian Toomes, otherwise known as Vulture, is a common man who becomes a dangerous villain. In other words, he's a perfect nemesis for the young Peter Parker.

When talking to USA Today, Tom Holland commented on seeing Vulture for the first time. While Marvel movies are known for their lighter tone, this villain might be a little scarier than normal.

"The first time we see the Vulture is terrifying," Holland teases. "It's like a horror movie: really scary, very intense and shocking."

Jon Watts, the director of Spider-Man: Homecoming, went on to explain why he chose Vulture as the villain for the film. Even though he might not have been a fan's first choice for the main antagonist role, Watts made a compelling argument for Vulture's inclusion.

"The Spidey foe is different than other Marvel baddies such as Thanos and Ultron, Watts says. "It's fun to think that if Spider-Man is a regular kid who becomes a superhero, there's got to be a bunch of regular guys who become supervillains, too."

In a universe with so many evil space-men, a grounded villain sounds like a great relief. Vulture will help keep Peter Parker grounded, and it will help give the film a much more human feel.

Spider-Man: Homecoming hits theaters July 7, 2017, and the first trailer for the film will debut later tonight!
