'Spider-Man: Homecoming' Releases New Slew Of Concept Art

New Spider-Man: Homecoming concept art has made its way online, showing the early stages of the film's biggest set pieces as well as scenes that either didn't make it into the final product or were changed in the process of concept to screen.

The art comes from Henrik Tamm, who worked as a conceptual illustrator on Green Lantern and Captain America: The First Avenger. In the gallery below, you can see concept pieces that are pretty true to what made it into the movie: Peter Parker (Tom Holland) feeling out of place at Liz's (Laura Harrier) party, Spider-Man enjoying a snack break, Spider-Man (in his homemade costume) tangling with the Vulture's (Michael Keaton) flying apparatus, Spidey trying to reign control of the Stark plane filled with Stark Tech, and the young hero facing off with the menacing villain in a fiery climactic battle.

You can also see scenes that didn't make it into the movie: one image sees the Tinkerer (Michael Chernus) firing off a weapon re-purposes from the technology of the Chitauri, the aliens who attacked New York in The Avengers. In the movie, Tinkerer worked underneath the Vulture, who aimed to sell dangerous weapons to the highest bidder — and as seen in the images, Tinkerer seems to be demonstrating the destructive capabilities of the weapons to a crowd of men in business suits, likely there to purchase the illicit weaponry (a similar scene went down in Ant-Man). We can also see a compound with mysterious agents, one of whom is sporting a neck tattoo — and we have to wonder if that guy was intended to have ties to the Ten Rings or HYDRA.

Another piece shows Spider-Man, again in his homemade threads, tucked away in the shadows of a ceiling and surveying what looks to be a gathering meant to sell Chitauri weaponry to buyers (who no doubt have nefarious plans for the alien tech). You can see all the images in the gallery below.

Spider-Man: Homecoming is expected to hit Blu-ray on October 17 with many store exclusives to pick from.

A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.

The cast includes Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Tyne Daly, Bokeem Woodbine, with Marisa Tomei, and Robert Downey Jr. It also includes Jon Favreau, Martin Starr, Kenneth Choi, Michael Mando, Selenis Leyva, Isabella Amara, Jorge Lendeborg, Jr., JJ Totah, and Hannibal Buress.
