Spider-Man: Homecoming Test Screenings Earning High Scores

06/21/2017 04:52 pm EDT

Spider-Man: Homecoming has yet to lift its social embargo, but fans are now starting to get an idea of how it is being received. Friday will open up the film to press reactions, and fans should expect good things if its test screenings have anything to say. According to a new report, early showings of Spider-Man: Homecoming are leaving audiences thoroughly impressed.

Earlier today, The Hollywood Reporter ran an article which details Sony's partnership with Marvel Studios over Spider-Man. It is there that Spider-Man: Homecoming's test screenings get mentioned, and the site says viewers are giving the feature high ratings.

"So far Homecoming is testing very well, scoring in the low 90s. It is tracking to open as high as $100 million," The Hollywood Reporter writes.

With a score like that, fans can feel confident that Marvel Studios has put the golden touch upon Spider-Man's new film. Sony have previously struggled to garner universal praise for its previous Spider-Man movies, but the company's relationship with Marvel has helped mend that reputation. When Peter Parker made his latest on-screen comeback, he did so in Captain America: Civil War, and Tom Holland's take on the character as favorably received.

For Marvel Studios, this isn't their first feature of 2017 to go over well with test screenings. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 reached a milestone when it received a rating of 100 during its pre-screenings. The number is a rare one to come by in Hollywood, and the score predicted the film's favorable reviews.

Over on social media, some lucky fans have been able to give their first reactions to Spider-Man: Homecoming. One user @DanielRPK teased fans about his thoughts on the film when he said the flick is the hero's best one yet.

You know, 'Homecoming' really was the perfect title for this film. But you what title *I* would give it? The AMAZING Spider-Man! Finally, the perfect Spider-Man film I've been waiting for my whole life. Best Spider-Man since Spider-Man 2. This movie is so much fun. Great cast. Great action. Villain was… meh. But other than that, great."
