Tom Holland Reveals What Spider-Man Villains He Wants To See Next

Spider-Man has one of the most impressive and formidable rogues gallery, not just in Marvel comics but in superhero comics in general. Many creators have contributed classic foes for the Wall Crawler over his 50 year history, becoming some of the most iconic villains in the medium.

And even though quite a few have appeared on screen over the last five Spider-Man movies that have released in theaters, there are still plenty of memorable characters who have yet to appear on screen.

Michael Keaton will be portraying the Vulture in the villain's cinematic debut when Spider-Man: Homecoming premieres on July 7, and with an inevitable sequel in the works fans are already wondering which character could appear next to take on the webslinger.

Tom Holland himself spoke on the subject alongside Laura Harrier with Brazilian outlet Cinepop where he revealed which characters he would like to appear in the next installment.

"There's so many good villains," Holland said. "I really like Mysterio, I like Kraven. I really like the Clone Saga. I think it could be really cool if Peter or Spider-Man has to fight people with the same powers as him."

Fans have been clamoring for both Mysterio and Kraven the Hunter to appear in the films for years. Kraven's Last Hunt is considered one of the all-time classics among Spider-Man storylines. But the Clone Saga is a surprising addition considering how widely paned it was when it first hit theaters.

"Spider-Woman is super cool," Holland added. "I think she's called Spider-Girl, who is his clone. And they kind of, like, hit it off and then they take their masks off and they're like 'What the hell?' And they're the same person but she's just a girl. I think that's really cool. And then I can play myself as a girl."

Holland's referring to the Ultimate Clone Saga, in which Spider-Woman makes her debut. That would probably make for a great adaptation but with so many revered Spider-Man storylines in publication it's unlikely that film would make it to screen.

A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.

The cast features Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Robert Downey Jr., Zendaya, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Tyne Daly, Bokeem Woodbine, Logan Marshall-Green, and Marisa Tomei.

The film is being directed by Jon Watts (Cop Car), based on a screenplay by Jonathan Goldstein & John Francis Daley (Vacation reboot) and Jon Watts & Christopher Ford and Chris McKenna & Erik Sommers.
