Alexandra Shipp Wants Storm To Return For Another X-Men Movie

Sure, X-Men: Apocalypse was pretty controversial in terms of reception. Some thought it was an epic adventure, others didn't believe it lived up to any sort of hype. That being said, there were a couple things about the film that were universally-liked, no matter how you felt about it as a whole.

The biggest of those aspects was undoubtedly the casting of the young X-Men. Audiences loved the young iterations of Cyclops, Nightcrawler, Jean Grey, Quicksilver, Jubilee, and Storm, and they'd love to have them back for another movie.

While the characters for Fox's next X-Men film haven't been revealed, it looks like some of the actors want to return to the franchise for another go-round.

Alexandra Shipp - who played Storm in Apocalypse - has confirmed that she'd love to come back for the next film. While speaking with ScreenRant, Shipp also revealed some details she's hoping to see in Storm's story arc.

"When you sign on for a franchise, you definitely sign on for that. But it's all whatever Fox wants, Fox gets!"

"I'd really love to see Storm coming into her matriarch form. In the last X-Men, she was very young and she had a different viewpoint. I'd love to see her take on more of a substantial role and really see her come into her own. I want to show how Halle [Berry] got there. And to do that, I think we just need to show that evolution. And I'm all about a good character arc."

Shipp went on to say that the next X-Men isn't the only Fox film she'd like to appear in. As the interview went on, the actress talked about a Deadpool character she'd like to share the screen with.

When speaking about Negasonic Teenage Warhead - along with actress Brianna Hildebrand - Shipp said she'd love for the two to share the screen.

"The only thing is there's like 30 years between our storylines."

"You know the brand's going to find a way to make it all merge into one some day," Shipp said. "That would be really awesome. That'd be really fun to fight each other or fight a villain of some sort together. But who knows."

Regardless of how these storylines interact, it will still be a little while before we see any other X-Men movies in theaters. Until then, head to the theater to see Logan for the 17th time - it's still just as good.

Logan is directed by James Mangold, who co-wrote the screenplay with Scott Frank and Michael Green, from a story by Mangold, and also stars Patrick Stewart, Richard E. Grant, Boyd Holbrook, Stephen Merchant and Dafne Keen.

Logan is now playing in theaters.
