Here's Where The Defenders Picks Up With Colleen Wing

This year, Netflix will see yet another original Marvel series join its current line-up. Iron Fist debuted earlier this spring, and Marvel's The Defenders will make its premiere. The special miniseries will see the likes of Daredevil team up with Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist as they band together to protect Hell's Kitchen. The heroes will be joined by the respective sidekicks as Foggy will stand beside Matthew Murdock, and Colleen Wing will never be too far from Danny Rand. Now, the actress behind the fierce martial artist is talking about her part in The Defenders, and she says the show will pick up with Colleen in a weird spot.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Jessica Henwick said The Defenders will not see her character in New York when the miniseries kicks off.

"We pick up with Colleen not in New York — which is crazy, as all the shows have been predominantly in New York," Henwick said. "We find her a month after we left her. It's really interesting she hasn't been able to deal with the emotional trauma she dealt with in Iron Fist. So it builds to a head and she explodes in Defenders."

As for the show itself, Henwick said The Defenders will make fans "freak out" over how good it is.

"It's good, it's really good. I think people are going to love seeing characters interact with each other, they're going to see Colleen and Misty [Simone Missick], they're going to love seeing Luke Cage with the Iron Fist, Danny Rand," she continued.

Marvel's The Defenders was developed by Douglas Petrie and Marco Ramirez. The miniseries will also feature Sigourney Weaver as the villain, Alexandra (Sigourney Weaver), and several recurring guest stars from Marvel's Daredevil, Marvel's Jessica Jones, Marvel's Luke Cage, and Marvel's Iron Fist, including Eka Darville as Malcolm Ducasse, Simone Missick as Misty Knight, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Carrie-Anne Moss as Jeri Hogarth, Scott Glenn as Stick, Rachael Taylor as Trish Walker, Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, and Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing.
