The Inhumans: First Look at Anson Mount as Black Bolt and Lockjaw
03/05/2017 09:40 pm EST
Today, filming has commenced on Marvel's The Inhumans, and Reel News Hawaii has already snapped the first photographs of Anson Mount as Black Bolt (a.k.a. Blackagar Boltagon) -- the silent and commanding King of the Inhumans -- and a pre-CGI version of Lockjaw, Crystal's two-thousand-pound pet dog.
A clean-shaven and maskless Mount was spotted on the downtown Honolulu set wearing black leather boots, pants, and a jacket. The coat features a lightning bolt-like design on his chest, short collar, and is waist-length in the front and knee-length in the back.
As for the enormous teleporting dog, it's going to be brought to life with CGI. But to help the digital artists seamlessly blend Lockjaw into the scenes with the live-action cast, a large, blue model of the dog is on set — though the top half has been covered with a tarp, so far.

UPDATE! First Inhumans set video!
The Inhumans, a race of superhumans with diverse and singularly unique powers, were first introduced in Marvel Comics by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1965. Since that time, they have grown in prominence and become some of the most popular and iconic characters in the Marvel Universe. Marvel's The Inhumans will explore the never-before-told epic adventure of Black Bolt and the royal family.
The cast features Anson Mount as Black Bolt, Iwan Rheon as Maximus, Serinda Swan as Medusa, Ken Leung as Karnak, Eme Ikwuakor as Gorgon, Isabelle Cornish as Crystal, Mike Moh as Triton, Sonya Balmores as Auran, Ellen Woglom as Undisclosed Character, and Lockjaw as himself.
The first two episode of Marvel's The Inhumans (directed by Roel Reine) will premiere in over 1,000 IMAX theatres across the globe — for a two-week run — starting on September 1, 2017. ABC will then premiere the weekly television series on Tuesday, September 26. Marvel's Iron Fist showrunner Scott Buck is serving as its showrunner.
