The Unworthy Thor #2 Reveals Who Has The Hammer

12/07/2016 10:44 am EST

Ever since he heard those unfortunate words from Nick Fury, Odinson has been attempting to find his place in the world. Now he's finally found what he's been looking for, but in the last place he expected.

Spoilers from here on out, so be warned.

In The Unworthy Thor #2, Odinson and Beta Ray Bill take on their attackers seen in our Exclusive preview of the issue and things don't go according to plan. They dispatch their attackers quickly, but upon seeing a large vessel in the distance, Odinson heads towards it at full speed. After a rather vivid nightmare, he awakens chained and inside a cage.

A voice speaks to Odinson from the shadows, and it doesn't take long for him to realize that it is that of The Collector. You would assume he simply wants to add this depowered Thor to his collection, but The Collector's motives go far beyond that, and he isn't content with simply obtaining an Asgardian to gaze for his collection.

The Collector has managed to not just collect Odinson, but he's been able to obtain the entirety of old Asgard. While the previous home of the Gods is a barren place these days, it has one item in particular that The Collector wants more than anything else, Thor's Hammer.

This was Ultimate Thor's hammer that made its way to earth 616 after the events of Secret Wars, and Odinson has been searching for it ever since The Unseen told him of its landing. Now the only thing that stands in between him and this second chance is an entitled immortal who doesn't take no for an answer.

The Unworthy Thor is written by Jason Aaron with art by Oliver Coipel. You can find images from the issue in the gallery.
