Does The Collector's Fortress Appear In Thor: Ragnarok?

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is not shy about its use of easter eggs, and fans have already started to comb through the Thor: Ragnarok trailer in hopes of finding some obscure nerdy nuggets. So far, netizens have sleuthed around and found some stellar nods to Fantastic Four and even the Silver Surfer specifically - but it looks like another Marvel series may be getting a short blip in the film. Thanks to some eagle-eyed fans, rumors have popped up that The Collector from Guardians of the Galaxy may play a part in Ragnarok thanks to his fortress.

Over on SlashFilm, a report first appeared which pointed out a building in the Ragnarok trailer which looks suspiciously like The Collector's fortress of goodies. During a scene featuring The Grandmaster, fans can see a large building over the figure's left shoulder which looks like one currently being constructed in Disneyland California.

Right now, The Collector's fortress is something fans will be most familiar with thanks to Disney parks. Disneyland began work on renovating its take on the Tower of Terror to give it a superhero facelift. The thrilling ride now looks like a fortress which houses some of The Collector's most unique items. The ride, which is called Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: Breakout!"

It would not be totally unreasonable to see The Collector referenced in Ragnarok, especially if it is in connection with The Grandmaster. The two characters are part of a supervillain group in the Marvel Universe known as the Elders of the Universe, so there is a connection between the two. The director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has also said The Collector will not appear in any way in the sequel, so Ragnarok may give a sly nod to the character to keep him relevant to fans.

Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok – the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization – at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger – The Incredible Hulk!"

The cast features Chris Hemsworth in the title role for the fifth time; Tom Hiddleston as Thor's adversarial, adopted brother, Loki; Idris Elba as the Asgardian sentry, Heimdall; Sir Anthony Hopkins again portraying Odin, Ruler of Asgard; Mark Ruffalo reprising his role of Bruce Banner/the Hulk; Cate Blanchett as the mysterious and powerful new villain Hela; Jeff Goldblum as the eccentric Grandmaster; Tessa Thompson bring the classic hero Valkyrie to life on the big screen; and Karl Urban will add his might to the fray as Skurge.
