Colorful New Thor: Ragnarok Photos Released

A colorful new batch of photos from Thor: Ragnarok has surfaced online ahead of their release in an upcoming issue of Empire Magazine.

The new photos, collected in the gallery attached below, see Thor on his journey through the Marvel Cinematic Universe's cosmos and several of the characters he will encounter along the way. Among those faces, as many know, is the Hulk during Thor's gladiator match with him in the Sakaaran arena under the Grandmaster's rule. Appropriately, a photo of the Grandmaster and his assistant Topaz is also included in the new photos.

It doesn't stop there, though. A photo of Thor aboard the Quinjet, an Avengers vehicle which will play a major role in the upcoming film from Taika Waititi, is accompanied by a shot of Thor and his brother Loki on Earth -- likely on their way to an encounter with Doctor Strange. Strange, however, has not yet been revealed in the film with the exception of a post-credits scene from his 2016 movie.

"Tonally, it's fun," Waititi told ComicBook.com of Thor: Ragnarok. "I wanted to make it an adventure that people could leave the cinema feeling uplifted and feeling like they've been on an adventure it's been fun, and that they've been entertained. I just want to entertain people with the film."

In order to achieve that Waititi attempted to bring out the humorous side of his cast, especially the God of Thunder himself.

Rounding out the photos are Idris Elba's Heimdall, Karl Urban's Skurge, and Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie.

"You look at the cast and they're all beautiful, they're all talented, they're all funny, I couldn't have been luckier with that cast. Chris [Hemsworth] especially. He's one of the funniest guys I know and we really exploited that, really tapped into that side of him. You're going to see a version of Thor that's more fun and, actually I think, the most lovable. A version of Thor that people are going to like."

Check out the photos in the gallery below. Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters on November 3, 2017.
