Thor: Ragnarok Trailer Gets Hilarious Animated Parody

Marvel Studios' most-watched trailer in a 24-hour period (136M views), Thor: Ragnarok, gets a new and improved animated version.

The folks over at AOK have put together an animated parody trailer for the third installment in the Thor movie franchise, and it features custom-made lyrics for Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song" that provides a brief recap of Thor's MCU journey and humorously explains the Ragnarok's plot and introduces its cast of characters.

The altered lyrics to the song include: "He comes from the land of the Rainbow Bridge / He did two movies with Natalie Portman / Thor was in love / Loki pretends he's Odin / He's a bad king / He unleashed Hela / Cate Blanchett is a wonderful talent / Now Thor's in Sakaar / Fighting Hulk / We missed both 'cause they weren't in Civil War."

After showing Stan Lee using a selfie-stick to take a picture with Hela and describing how Doctor Strange will fit into the story, the video addresses the small, pre-emptive controversy that arose about the film's comedic tone when director Taika Waititi said it will feature a more quippy version of Thor.

During that portion of the song, we see Hulk and Thor together on stage doing a montage of comedy bits. It begins with Hulk as a mime and Thor in a pink tutu, and then they walk like Egyptians, dress like Laurel and Hardy (?), wear and mustard and kechup costumes, and finishes with The Mighty Avenger balancing his enchanted hammer on his nose and the Green Goliath riding a unicycle.

Thor's world is about to explode in Marvel's Thor: Ragnarok. His devious brother, Loki, has taken over Asgard, the powerful Hela has emerged to steal the throne for herself and Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe. To escape captivity and save his home from imminent destruction, Thor must first win a deadly alien contest by defeating his former ally and fellow Avengers... The Incredible Hulk!

The cast features Chris Hemsworth in the title role for the fifth time; Tom Hiddleston as Thor's adversarial, adopted brother, Loki; Idris Elba as the Asgardian sentry, Heimdall; Sir Anthony Hopkins again portraying Odin, Ruler of Asgard; Mark Ruffalo reprising his role of Bruce Banner/the Hulk; Cate Blanchett as the mysterious and powerful new villain Hela; Jeff Goldblum as the eccentric Grandmaster; Tessa Thompson bring the classic hero Valkyrie to life on the big screen; and Karl Urban will add his might to the fray as Skurge.

Thor: Ragnarok is directed by Taika Waititi, written by Craig Kyle, and will open in theaters November 3, 2017.
