Vincent D'Onofrio Addresses If Kingpin Will Appear In Defenders Or Spider-Man

12/18/2016 11:06 am EST

Vincent D'Onofrio's performance as the Kingpin in Marvel's Daredevil has been among the greatest villainous performances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Fans can't seem to get enough of Wilson Fisk, and some conversations D'Onofrio had over Twitter are evidence of that.

D'Onofrio was asked if his Kingpin would be showing up Marvel's Defenders, the Netflix series that will bring Kingpin's foe, Daredevil, together with Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist. That's not an unreasonable quesiton given Kingpin's surprise appearance in Marvel's Daredevil Season 2, but D'Onofrio says there's "no chance" he'll be in Defenders

However, some fans may remember that the Kingpin debuted in the Marvel Comics Universe not as a Daredevil villain, but as a Spider-Man foe. Could this mean a Kingpin appearance in Spider-Man: Homecoming or one of its sequels is in the works? According to D'Onofrio, no.

In another tweet, D'Onofrio clarifies that it isn't impossible for him to bring the Kingpin to other parts of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is simply so packed full of characters that it can be difficult to find screentime for all of them.
