Vincent D'Onofrio Comments On If Kingpin Will Be In A Marvel Movie

The saga of The Kingpin continues, as Vincent D'Onofrio lets fans in on what Marvel thinks about the possibility of placing the villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Many have been hoping that the Daredevil star would reprise his role in one of Spider-Man's future movies, seeing as how D'Onofrio played a great version of the character. According to the actor however, he doesn't think it's going to happen any time soon.

In an interview with Digital Spy, D'Onofrio said that the chances of his character getting fit into the movies are pretty slim.

"I would love to switch over to the movies, but I think it's pretty much been said it's not going to happen. Or at least not for a very, very long time. I think [Marvel Studios boss] Kevin Feige explained that, and that's what makes the most sense, he said the film universe is too jam-packed. It's hard enough already, and if they keep bringing big characters in that they have to service in the writing, it's not gonna work. They're trying to figure out already how to individualise more and at the same time keep The Avengers going.

"It makes sense not to mix the TV stuff, there's just too many characters."

This is a dagger to the heart of Marvel fans, as they TV and movie franchises were built to exist in the same universe - but it's just much harder to cross them over.

It may be difficult, but D'Onofrio said he'd be down for appearing in the Marvel movies if the opportunity presented itself.

So there's hope, right?
