What Other Marvel Heroes Know About The Guardians Of The Galaxy Revealed

The Marvel Cinematic universe has expanded a great deal in recent years and will continue to with the exploration of Wakanda in Black Panther and the expansion of the cosmos in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Avengers: Infinity War.

Speaking of Avengers, while they might be earth's mightiest defenders, that notoriety doesn't mean people like Star-Lord and Gamora have any idea who they are. At a recent set visit, ComiicBook.com asked Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige about how much the rest of the Marvel universe factors into Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and how much the Guardians themselves now about the rest of Marvel's heroes.

"They might know about Thor. It doesn't come up.It doesn't come up. I don't think they know anything about the Avengers. They might know Volstagg and Sif walked into the Collector's lab once, so they sort of must know that they sort of, some people know they exist, but that's not, that doesn't come into play in this story."

While it might not play a big part here, the meeting between the Guardians and the Avengers will be a big part of Infinity War, where it's been confirmed that Star-Lord, Gamora, Rocket, Groot, and the rest of the squad will finally meet heroes like Captain America, Iron Man, Doctor Strange, and maybe even Captain Marvel for the first time.

Set to the backdrop of 'Awesome Mixtape #2,' Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team's adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill's true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes' aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is written and directed by James Gunn (Slither). The film marks the return of the original Guardians, including Chris Pratt (Jurassic World) as Peter Quill/Star-Lord; Zoe Saldana (Star Trek Into Darkness) as Gamora; Dave Bautista (Spectre) as Drax; Vin Diesel (Furious 7) as the voice of Groot; Bradley Cooper (American Sniper) as the voice of Rocket; Michael Rooker (Jumper) as Yondu; Karen Gillan (The Big Short) as Nebula; and Sean Gunn (Gilmore Girls) as Kraglin. New cast members include Pom Klementieff (Oldboy), Elizabeth Debicki (The Great Gatsby, Everest), Chris Sullivan (The Knick, The Drop) and Kurt Russell (The Hateful Eight, The Thing).

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is scheduled to hit theaters on May 5, 2017.
