New Wolverine 3 Image is Colorful Ode to Old Man Logan

As the release date for Wolverine 3 (aka Logan) approaches, we continue to get nice little teasers of the film, shared by director James Mangold (The Wolverine) and/or franchise star, Hugh Jackman.

The latest is a nice, colorful, hi-res image of Jackman, once again looking every bit the adaptation of Old Man Logan from the comic books, which the film will introduce to fans in fittingly violent, Rated-R fashion.

For cinephiles, Mangold once again lists the technical specs on the camera that created the image. This photo is far more colorful and detailed than some of the more atmospheric black and white teaser images, which help to convey the Spaghetti Western atmosphere of Logan. You can actually see the aesthetic details of Jackman's ageing Wolverine, such as the liver spots all over his face, which hint at the fading effect of his healing factor powers.

...And, as always, Jackman's hair and facial hair is on point.

Logan takes place in the year 2024, where mutant births have become extremely rare. The defenders of mutant kind, the X-Men, are long gone, and the only remains of them are an old and struggling Charles Xavier and a weary Logan. Logan's vaunted healing factor has slowed, and at times doesn't seem to work at all. When a young mutant needs his help, Logan has to unsheathe his claws once more. His job isn't over yet.

Logan stars Hugh Jackman (Logan), Boyd Holbrook (Donald Pierce), Patrick Stewart (Charles Xavier), Dafne Keen (Laura Kinney/X-23), Doris Morgado (Maria), Stephen Merchant (Caliban), Elizabeth Rodriguez (Gabriela), and Richard E. Grant (Dr. Zander Rice). James Mangold is directing and helped on the screenplay along with Scott Frank and Michael Green.
