X-Men: Blue #1 Remastered Jim Lee Variant Cover Revealed

Marvel is commemorating the launch of ResurrXion, the new era for the X-Men, by remastering classic X-Men art by one of the greatest X-Men artists ever, Jim Lee.

ComicBook.com can now reveal the remastered Jim Lee variant cover for X-Men: Blue #1, which has been recolored by Morry Hollowell.

"Few artists are as synonymous with the X-Men, and specifically the Blue & Gold era of the X-Men quite like Jim Lee," says Marvel SVP Sales & Marketing David Gabriel in a statement. "We wanted to do something extra special to commemorate these two new titles, and we're excited to bring Jim's unique vision of Marvel's merry mutants back to the fans for these two remastered variant covers!"

The X-Men: Blue #1 variant cover is a remastered Jim Lee pinup of the original five X-Men. Time-displaced, teenage versions of these mutants – Cyclops, Jean Grey, Beast, Iceman, and Angel – make up the new X-Men Blue team and now under the mentorship of the man who was once their greatest enemy, Magneto!

"Magneto has gone through quite a bit since I started writing him," says X-Men: Blue writer Cullen Bunn in a previous interview with ComicBook.com. "He went from a solo judge, jury, and executioner style character to leading a team of hard-hitting X-Men to (now) mentoring the original five X-Men--characters who remember him very clearly as their first enemy. He's not comfortable with it, to be honest, and he keeps a kind of distance from the O5. He will not be running around on adventures with them.

"There's an added complication, too, in that Magneto is sort of in hiding. He feels that showing himself will only harm the mutant cause. The X-Men are the "face" of his endeavors. But when he does reveal himself... look out!"
