A Transformers Movie Set In Ancient Rome Is A Possibility

Transformers: The Last Knight doesn't seem content with just working in the present day, and the mighty relics of the days of King Arthur and his knights are rumored to play a significant part in the upcoming film. That could just be the beginning, though.

Producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura spoke to Collider at a recent set visit for The Last Knight, and he was asked if the team has other time periods in mind for future movies. He said "you could easily make an argument that in Roman times, you know, there were–you know what I mean? That seems like a good period." Meaning insert Transformers into ancient Rome and see what happens.

In the realm of ancient technologies, you could theorize that just about anything has been sitting dormant for thousands and thousands of years, waiting for the right time or person to utilize it. Ancient Rome could be a very interesting point of time to work with, possibly seeing how they harness the technology without knowing its true power. It also depends if it all takes place during that timeframe or if the Transformers travel back in time to that era, but again, this is all just speculation.

Transformers: The Last Knight is directed by Michael bay, and stars Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci, Isabela Moner, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, John Turturro, Liam Garrigan, Jerrod Carmichael, Mitch Pileggi, Laura Haddock, Santiago Cabrera, and Anthony Hopkins.
