Earlier tonight, Paramount Pictures released the first full-length trailer for Michael Bay's Transformers: The Last Knight, and it featured an intriguing narration from Sir Anthony Hopkins, a frozen and lifeless Optimus Prime floating in the vacuum of space, medieval knights on horseback, plenty of explosions, Mark Wahlberg's Cade Yeager joining up with Josh Duhamel's William Lennox, and the stunning confrontation between Bumblebee and an apologetic Optimus at the very end.
At nearly two-and-a-half minutes, there is a lot for fans of the film series to absorb. Add in the fact that there still isn't a official synopsis, many of them will have to speculate as to what is going on.
Now, let's see what how the internet has reacted to the trailer.
The cast of Transformers: The Last Knight features Mark Wahlberg (Planet of the Apes) as Cade Yeager, Isabela Moner (100 Things To Do Before High School) as Izabella, Josh Duhamel (Life as We Know It) as Lieutenant Colonel William Lennox, John Turturro (The Big Lebowski) as Seymour Simmons, and Tyrese Gibson (Furious 7) as Robert Epps, as well as Jerrod Carmichael (Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising), Anthony Hopkins (Thor: The Dark World). The voice cast includes Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime and John Goodman (10 Cloverfield Lane) as Hound.
Michael Bay, who has directed the previous four installments in Transformers live-action film franchise, returns to direct the fifth installment. Transformers: The Last Knight was written by a trio of screenwriters: Art Marcum, Matt Holloway, and Ken Nolan.
The Paramount and Hasbro partnership is responsible for the worldwide blockbuster success of the Transformers franchise, which has earned $3.8 billion to-date, and whose films, directed by Bay, are amongst the highest grossing movies of all time.
