Angry Birds Pays Tribute To Deadpool

To celebrate the release of 20th Century Fox's Deadpool, Rovio Entertainment and Sony Pictures Imageworks -- the producers behind The Angry Birds Movie -- put out a new image of their angriest bird, Red, dressed as the Merc with a Mouth.
Merc with a Beak lounges comfortably atop the "Redpool" title, which is the exact pose we saw used throughout Fox's marketing campaign. To make Red resemble Deadpool, he's been given white eyes, black superhero eye mask, a utility belt with his logo as a buckle, and two leather-wrapped handles stick out from his back sword mount.
Below, you can check out the full-image.
The movie takes us to an island populated entirely by happy, flightless birds – or almost entirely. In this paradise, Red (Jason Sudeikis, We're the Millers, Horrible Bosses), a bird with a temper problem, speedy Chuck (Josh Gad in his first animated role since Frozen), and the volatile Bomb (Danny McBride, This is the End, Eastbound and Down) have always been outsiders. But when the island is visited by mysterious green piggies, it's up to these unlikely outcasts to figure out what the pigs are up to.
The Angry Birds Movie will fly into theaters May 20, 2016.
