Avengers: Age Of Ultron Opening Weekend Early Estimates Now At $195 Million
05/03/2015 01:56 am EDT
While this number could very well change after official box office numbers come in, the early estimates are now calling for Avengers: Age of Ultron to finish with a $195 million opening weekend at the domestic box office. The estimates come from Exhibitor Relations, who also reports the Saturday box office numbers were upwards of $ 60 million.
If these numbers hold up, then it means Avengers: Age of Ultron will not beat the record-setting opening weekend box office of the original Avengers movie. The Avengers opened to $207.4 million at the domestic box office back in 2012.
Avengers: Age of Ultron grossed $84.5 million on opening day, beating The Avengers opening day of $80.8 million. However, if the $60 million Saturday number is accurate for Avengers: Age of Ultron, then it will gross less than The Avengers did on Saturday, when it brought in $69.5 million. The Avengers: Age of Ultron Saturday box office could have been diminished somewhat by a number of major sporting events taking place.
