Doctor Strange: Chiwetel Ejiofor As Baron Mordo First Look
11/07/2015 05:35 pm EST
Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years A Slave, 2012) was spotted on the Nepal set of Doctor Strange for the first time!
Ejiofor is playing the power-hungry villain Baron Mordo in the film, however, the jealous rival of Dr. Stephen Strange was seen -- wearing a cloak and decorative robes -- walking alongside Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock) for these scenes. This strongly suggests, like in the comics, that a friendship will form between the two and then will crumble once Mordo's mentor, The Ancient One, chooses Strange to be his successor.
Check out a couple of photos below.
A majority of filming will take place in London, England and is expected to begin sometime in December. Scott Derrickson is directing with a cast that includes Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange, Tilda Swinton as The Ancient One, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo, Rachel McAdams is rumored to be playing Christine Palmer, also known as Night Nurse, and Mads Mikkelsen will play an unspecified villain role.
Marvel's Dr. Strange will cast a spell on audiences November 4, 2016.
