Furious 7 is on track for an opening weekend gross that could reach as high as $275 million at the worldwide box office.
These are estimates of industry insiders, who say they expect the film to bring in at least $225 million worldwide by the time Sunday's ticket sales are tallied.
Furious 7 is the widest domestic release in Universal history, opening on 4,003 screens across the United States. Worldwide, the movie will be seen 10,500 screens across 63 territories. The film's ticket sales will be augmented by what IMAX is calling their widest ever global day and date release.
