Here Are All The Oscars Mad Max: Fury Road Has Won

Traditionally, big-budget action movies like George Miller's Mad Max: Fury Road are snubbed by the Academy Awards, but this year the crowd-pleasing film received 10 nominations. And tonight, Fury Road is off to a great start, racking up wins in six categories.

10-time Oscar nominee Jenny Beavan won for Best Costume Design. Her win for Fury Road now gives hertwo Academy Awards, as she previously won for 1986's A Room with a View. Beavan and Fury Road beat out Paco Delagdo for The Danish Girl, Jacqueline West for The Revenant, and Sandy Powell who was nominated for two films: Carol and Cinderella.

Lesley Vanderwalt, Elka Wardega and Damian Martin won for Best Makeup & Hairstyling. This was the first Academy Award nominations for all three of them. Congrats! They beat out competition from Love Larson and Eva von Bahr for The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed out the Window and Disappeared, and Siân Grigg, Duncan Jarman and Robert Pandini for The Revenant.

Margaret Sixel won for Best Film Editing. Fury Road marked her first Academy Award nomination. She beat out Hank Corwin for The Big Short, Stephen Mirrione for The Revenant, Tom McArdle for Spotlight, and Maryann Brandon and Mary Jo Markey for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Colin Gibson and Lisa Thompson won for Best Production Design. Fury Road marked their first Academy Award nominations. Fury Road beat out Bridge of Spies, The Danish Girl, The Martian, and The Revenant.

Four-time nominee Mark Mangini and first-time nominee David White won for Best Sound Editing. Fury Road beat out The Revenant, The Martian, Sicario, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Seven-time nominee Gregg Rudloff, Five-time nominee Chris Jenkins, and first-time nominee Ben Osmo won for Best Sound Mixing. Fury Road beat out The Martian, Bridge of Spies, The Revenant, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
