Kong: Skull Island TV Spot Released

02/22/2017 06:02 pm EST

Kong: Skull Island's previous trailers have mainly focused on Kong, and rightfully so. Seriously, you tell him he's not the star. Go on.... tell him.

In any case, there is also a stellar cast that includes Brie Larson, Tom Hiddleston, and Samuel L. Jackson along for the ride, and the latest TV spot gives them a welcome go in the spotlight. The team of researchers planned on discovering the island's secrets, but the mission seems to have taken a turn into "just hoping to survive" territory.

The research team isn't going down without a fight, though, and you can view the latest footage from the upcoming film (currently sporting a 3.40 out of 5 on ComicBook.com's anticipation rankings) in the video above. The official description can be found below.

Kong: Skull Island reimagines the origin of the mythic Kong in a compelling, original adventure from director Jordan Vogt-Roberts. In the film, a diverse team of explorers is brought together to venture deep into an uncharted island in the Pacific—as beautiful as it is treacherous—unaware that they're crossing into the domain of the mythic Kong.

Kong: Skull Island stars Tom Hiddleston (Thor: Ragnarok), Samuel L. Jackson (The Avengers), Oscar-winner Brie Larson (Room), John Goodman (10 Cloverfield Lane) and John C. Reilly (Guardians of the Galaxy). The international ensemble cast also includes Tian Jing, Corey Hawkins, Jason Mitchell, John Ortiz, Thomas Mann, Shea Whigham, Toby Kebbell and Eugene Cordero.

Jordan Vogt-Roberts (The Kings of Summer) directs the film from a screenplay by Max Borenstein, John Gatins, Dan Gilroy and Derek Connolly. The film is produced by Legendary's Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni with Mary Parent. The executive producers are Eric McLeod and Alex Garcia.

Kong: Skull Island hits theaters on March 10, 2017. Godzilla 2 is scheduled for March 22, 2018. MonsterVerse is slated for May 29, 2020.
