Kong: Skull Island Will Feature The Biggest Kong Ever

The team behind Kong: Skull Island are aiming to deliver not just an entertaining film, but the biggest Kong ever created on screen.
During a presentation at CineEurope, Warner Bros. showed off a number of their upcoming tentpoles (via THR), including The Legend of Tarzan, an extended look at Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, and their upcoming animated feature Smallfoot.
In addition to those, the studio offered an extended preview of Kong: Skull Island. The film stars Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, Brie Larson, John Goodman, and John C. Reilly, and is being directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts.
It was Roberts who brought up the sheer size of their version of Kong, saying: "This is going to be the biggest Kong there's ever been. Not 10 foot or 30 foot, but a 100-foot ape."
Vogt-Roberts initial pitch was the reason Hiddleston wanted to work on the project so much, saying: "Jordan Vogt-Roberts, who directed it, had this extraordinary idea. I don't want to spoil too much… But it's a whole new re-conception of the mythology. It essentially follows a group of disparate travelers and explorers and soldiers who travel to an undiscovered island in the South Pacific. And it's set in a time period where you could conceive that there are still undiscovered places on the earth. What they find on the island is surprising, and then every character has a very different response to it. It's going to be spectacular and epic, but also the human drama is kind of interesting as well."
Kong: Skull Island will debut in theatres on March 10th, 2017.
