LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Gameplay Trailer Released
03/23/2016 12:05 pm EDT
The first gameplay trailer for LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens was released online Wednesday, with major new additions to both gameplay and story promised.
On the story side of things, the trailer teases more of Poe Dameron's adventures (perhaps based on the upcoming comic book stories?), some additional backstory for Lor San Tekka, the mysterious Force cultist who helps Poe at the beginning of the movie and knew Ben Solo when he was younger, and you'll even get to play Chewie and Han's adventure, capturing the Rathtars.
On the gameplay side, a new cover-based "Blaster Battles" mode brings third person shooter mechanics to a LEGO game for the first time. Multi-Builds let players choose from more than one option with the same pile of bricks, effectively making them "master builders" from that other part of the LEGO universe. New flight and dogfight gameplay puts you in Poe, Rey, and others' pilot seats, as well.
Check out the gameplay trailer above, and get ready for the game, hitting stores June 28, 2016.
