Lorenzo di Bonaventura Talks Red and Jupiter's Legacy

Transformers: The Last Knight producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura has offered some news concerning two comic projects he currently has in the works.

The first is Red 3. Di Bonaventura has already produced two films based on the comic book by Warren Ellis and Cully Hamner. A third movie is still possible, but not guaranteed.

"Red, well, I don't know that we're going to make a third Red movie or not," di Bonaventura admits on the red carpet of Transformers: The Last Knight. "That's still kind of in the works and its a debate. We're waiting for a script right now, actually."

The second is Jupiter's Legacy, the adaptation of Mark Millar and Frank Quitely's Image Comics superhero series. Di Bonaventura seems confident and enthusiastic about the film.

"Jupiter's Legacy is just starting its process and I'm incredibly excited about that," di Bonaventura says. "I think Mark Millar, I think that's one of the brilliant reimaginations of that kind of genre picture and I think that's going to blow people's minds."

In Red, after surviving an assault from a squad of hit men, retired CIA agent Frank Moses (Bruce Willis) reassembles his old team for an all-out war. Frank reunites with old Joe (Morgan Freeman), crazy Marvin (John Malkovich) and wily Victoria (Helen Mirren) to uncover a massive conspiracy that threatens their lives. Only their expert training will allow them to survive a near-impossible mission -- breaking into CIA headquarters. The film was released in 2010 and was directed by Robert Schwentke.

In the sequel, Red 2, Former CIA black-ops agent Frank Moses (Bruce Willis) and his old partner, Marvin Boggs (John Malkovich), are caught in the grip of retirement -- but that soon changes when a powerful Cold War weapon known as Nightshade resurfaces decades after its disappearance. With assassins hot on their trail, Frank and his team set out to find the one scientist (Anthony Hopkins) who can unravel the mystery of Nightshade and help them save themselves -- and the world. The film was released in 2013 and was directed by Dean Parisot.

Jupiter's Legacy debuted at Image Comics in 2013. The series and its prequel series, Jupiter's Circle, is Millar's examination of and meditation on the relationship between superheroes and the superhero genre and the American dream.

The series primarily deal with the conflict between a group of older superheroes called the Union who fought to create a better world and their children who were simply born into it.
