Mighty Morphin Power Rangers LEGO Set Hits 10,000 Supporters

Ever since LEGO launched their Ideas division it's been home to some the fandom's favorite properties. From Friends and Golden Girls to Star Wars, there's a bit of everything here that hopefully gathers up enough support to make it to an official release someday. That includes the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers set, which has now entered the final phase before getting the official LEGO treatment.

Any project on LEGO Ideas has to amass 10,000 votes of support. Once it does it enters the last and final phase and is put before a LEGO review board, which is made up of designers, project managers, and other key team members to figure out if it can practically be made. This involves judging the set's playability, safety, and overall fit within the LEGO brand. This will kick off in May for the Power Rangers set (created by Bruceywan), where LEGO will review a number of products, though only one or two of them will typically be created.

The set features the original Mighty Morphin Power Ranges along with their home-base, and even includes a Zordon and Alpha 5. You can view the official description of the set below, as well as some images of it in the gallery.

Ay-yi-yi-yi-yi! Rita's escaped! Time to recruit a team of teenagers with attitude! Enter the MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS: Zack, Kimberly, Billy, Trini, Jason and Tommy, each ready to morph and save Angel Grove from the likes of Rita Repulsa and her horde of evil space aliens!

The set looks fantastic and will come with computer terminals, power spires, a viewing globe, and a specially printed energy tube with a studded Zordon head.

Speaking of mini figures, the set will also include Zack the Black Ranger (with removable helmet), Kimberly the Pink Ranger (with removable helmet), Billy the Blue Ranger (with removable helmet), Trini the Yellow Ranger (with removable helmet), Jason the Red Ranger (with removable helmet), Tommy the Green Ranger (with removable helmet), Tommy the White Ranger (with removable helmet), and Alpha 5.
