09/25/2015 01:06 pm EDT
It's time to rock out to some John Williams once more, and we're not talking about the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens soundtrack. To celebrate the return of the franchise to the big screen, the first six episodes' scores will be re-released in new Ultimate forms.
On January 8, 2016, you'll be able to purchase Episode 1-6 soundracks in box sets on Vinyl, CD, or Digital. The Star Wars: The Ultimate Vinyl Collection features the six soundtracks in gatefold sleeves with original artwork. The CD version includes a bonus CD with interviews with Harrison Ford and John Williams, and a DVD special about the music. The digital collection is just that, the music in high quality digital files.
No price was given for the Star Wars: The Ultimate Vinyl Collection, Star Wars: The Ultimate Soundtrack Edition, or the Star Wars: The Ultimate Digital Collection in the announcement on StarWars.com, but Amazon has the vinyl edition listed at $229.98 and available for pre-order now.
