Comic book artist Phil Noto's love for Star Wars is well-known. The artist, in addition to regular work for Marvel Comics (including regular and alt-covers to Star Wars comics there), has drawn the covers for several of the recently released and upcoming Star Wars novels, so he's certainly considered "part of the family" there now.

Well, to celebrate us being one month out from the official release date of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Noto created his own poster for the film, posting it to his personal tumblr page.

"ONE MONTH TO GO!! Here's something I've cooked up "for fun"," he wrote. "Fitting that it's almost been a year since my first Ep. 7 fan art. I've gotten much better reference since then :)"

That last note, of course, refers to what he's done on that cover art.

The poster is striking. The circle in the background can just barely be seen as the Starkiller Base, the home of the First Order. Kylo Ren looms over all, and Rey gets the largest of the heroic poses. Interestingly, Noto chose not to make her staff in the same straight line as the lightsabers wielded by Kylo Ren and Finn. Poe Dameron's distant look, compared to Rey and Finn's "center-camera" stares, is interesting as well.

Check out the full poster below, and follow Noto on Tumblr for more striking art featuring the galaxy far, far away.
