The reanimation of Harrison Ford's past glories continues with the news that Ryan Gosling is in talks to star opposite Ford in the upcoming sequel to Blade Runner.
The film is being executive produced by original Blade Runner director Ridley Scott, and directed by Denis Villeneauve. The script is being written by Michael Green and Blade Runner co-writer Hampton Fancher.
Ford will return to reprise his role as Rick Deckard. The latest press release says he will co-star, though Scott had implied previously that his role would be small and confined to the third act of the film.
Filming is set to begin in the summer of 2016. The film will pick up several decades after the end of Blade Runner. Further details on the story, including the identity of Gosling's character, were not revealed.
