Shocker! Not everyone was a huge fan of J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: The Force Awakens. One of the major complaints lobbied against the film is how unoriginal it is. You'd have to have to have your head buried in the sand not to notice how similar The Force Awakens characters and major plot points are to George Lucas' original Star Wars (1977) film.
To help illustrate this point, Dorkly has put out a hilarious video, titled "6 Star Wars Characters Meet Their New Equivalents." The pairings include: Luke Skywalker and Rey, Obi-Wan and old Han Solo, Kylo Ren and Darth Vader, Boba Fett and Captain Phasma, Finn and Lando Calrissian, and lastly, the Death Star and Starkiller Base.
Check it out in the video below.
Star Wars: Episode VIII is being written and directed by Rian Johnson, and will start filming in London's Pinewood Studios in the next few weeks, continuing the story of Rey, Finn, Poe, Kylo Ren, plus more legacy characters and all-new characters.
Star Wars: Episode VIII will land in theaters December 15, 2017.
