Over in Japan, it looks like Power Rangers is more alive than ever. Or, well, Super Sentai rather. The lively series has been a staple of the country's pop culture for decades now and has only gotten bigger since Saban Entertainment brought Super Sentai to the U.S. thanks to Power Rangers. These days, hardcore Power Rangers fans have looked to Super Sentai when U.S. content has been scarce, and Japan has responded with some pretty neat series. Next month, TV Asahi will bring yet another Super Sentai show to life when Uchū Sentai Kyūranger debuts as the 41st show in the franchise.

Now, fans are getting their first-look at the show and its costumes in a newly released teaser. And, as you might have expected, fans of the action-packed series are taking note of the intergalactic team's aesthetic.

The short teaser confirms that Uchū Sentai Kyūranger will premiere on Feburary 12 in Japan, and fans can see each of the squad's nine fighters. The group will be the largest to debut in the Super Sentai franchise, and the show will be themed around the power of constellations. The soldiers will be fighting against an evil group from the future known as Jark Matter who wish to take over the universe. The Super Sentai heroes will be given transformation items known as "Kyūtama" which harness the power of the stars and allows them to fight. Each of the heroes will be representatives from each constellation, and now all of them will be human.

Clearly, the heroes and their suits are not as fancy as those seen in the upcoming live-action Power Rangers film. The much-anticipated film is based off Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and will see characters like Tommy and Kimberly become acquainted with the villainous Rite Repulsa. There's no word yet on whether Saban will one day bring Uchū Sentai Kyūranger over to the U.S., but Power Rangers fans seem interested in the prospect.
