Doctor Aphra #2
Written by Kieron Gillen and illustrated by Kev Walker, Doctor Aphra is the newest Star Wars series from Marvel comics.
The series follows Dr. Aphra - a bad-ass archeologist introduced in the Darth Vader comics - as she and her crew adventure across the galaxy.
The series does an impeccable job of mixing new characters and ideas with classic Star Wars themes, and it's gearing up to be one of the best the series has to offer.
Locke & Key: It's A Small World #1
Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez ended their legendary Locke & Key series over three years ago, and they've returned this week for the third one-shot comic from the world of Keyhouse.
The original Locke & Key story follows the Locke children as they explore the mystical secrets of their father's childhood home. It's A Small World explores one of the stories from the house's rich history.
This comic explores the mysterious Dollhouse key, and the children that were caught up in its deadly delights.
Locke & Key is an incredibly fun series that manages to find unparalleled levels of depth with its art and content.
Ether #2
Matt Kindt brought the world of Ether to life in last month's debut issue, and #2 takes the story to even more exciting levels.
Ether follows a man caught between the excitement of a world he can't stay in, and the terror of a reality he can't escape.
This comic provides so much truth about fitting in and finding our place in the world, while still telling an incredibly imaginitive tale along the way.
Mighty Captain Marvel #0
Captain Marvel is going to be a tentpole for Marvel films in the near future, so it makes sense that the studio is going forward with a new comic featuring the character.
The new Captain Marvel series is written by Margaret Stohl and illustrated by Emilio Laiso and Ramon Rosanas, and it does a great job of capturing the strength and beauty of Carol Danvers.
To be honest, it's also just an incredibly fun time.
Justice League Vs. Suicide Squad #1
This is the big DC bash that fans have been waiting a very long time for. The Justice League and Suicide Squad are finally being featured in the same comic.
Joshua Williamson writes the series, and it's being illustrated by Jason Fabok. All of your favorite characters from both groups are leaping into action for this big event, and the six-issue run is shaping up to be ton of fun. This issue is the first of the series, so be sure to pick it up this week!
