Perfect
Most fans agree, the tribute was perfect. More important than the first look at Fisher in Star Wars: The Last Jedi was the memories of her in previous films. David Burke says it is "hard to imagine a more perfect tribute to Carrie Fisher," and most will agree, while adding that it is difficult to imagine anyone else ever playing the part of Princess Leia in the Star Wars saga.
Thousands of fans are so touched by the tribute and find themselves sharing it online.
Missing Her
The tribute did, however, remind the dedicated fanbase of how much they miss the actress. Many of these fans grew up watching Fisher's portrayal of Leia in the films which innovated cinema as we know it. Matt Topacio writes, "I really miss her so much."
Each had a unique reaction, some tried to capture their emotion in a gif as legendary conductor John Williams played the iconic Star Wars tunes after the tribute.
Tears
Fandango's Erik Davis shared the room's reaction while those at home shared it. With the video being released online at the same time it played during the panel at Celebration, fans at home were hit in the feels just as heavily as those in the room with the stars were.
IGN's Jim Vejvoda wasn't too proud to admit how touched he was by the memories of Fisher.
Billie Lourd's Tribute
While the live stream of Star Wars Celebration 2017 Orlando cut off for many of the folks watching from home during the Carrie Fisher tributes, Peter Sciretta of /Film was in attendance and aware of the outage.
Sciretta grabbed some footage of Carrie Fisher's daughter remembering her mother with a touching tribute, highlighting Fisher's life and time with Star Wars.
