Do Star Wars: The Last Jedi Foreign Titles Reveal the Title is Plural?

One of the major debates when the official title of Star Wars: Episode VIII was revealed as Star Wars: The Last Jedi came from grammar fans - seriously. Like ninja, fish, or deer, the plural of Jedi is Jedi; so is the title meant to talk about one character, like Luke Skywalker or Rey for example, or multiple characters, like Luke Skywalker and Rey for example. With The Last Jedi currently tied for first in ComicBook.com's all-movies anticipation rankings with a 4.54/5 (tied with Infinity War), it's safe to say fans are looking for every clue they can get.

Well, overnight the title was revealed in foreign markets, as it started showing up on the official twitter accounts of several other countries, and every one of those has something in common: They're all listed in plural. France, Germany, Spain, Brazil, Italy, and more are saying, thanks to the fact they have plural articles, that Jedi is, for lack of a better and more gramattically accurate phrasing: "Jedis."

Now, in many languages, especially most romantic languages, both proper and plural terms use plural articles. That means you'd say "The Last Jedi" using plural whether you meant it as a term of respect or even a proper title, or if it was meant to refer to more than one. German, however, has more definitive implications, as it's a bit closer of a 1:1 translation to English. In that case, the use of plural only means more than one, and that seems to answer the question (thanks to Florian B @GermanJedi for that confirmation).

With that, then, it seems that "Jedi" in the instance of this title is plural, referring to at least two - and that's almost certainly Luke and Rey. It still doesn't tell us why they're both being referred to as "the last," what happened to all of the other potential Force sensitives in the galaxy, and the answers to many other questions, but at least our speculation is now pushed firmly in one direction.
