Exclusive Marvel Preview: Star Wars: Darth Vader #22

Marvel Comics has provided ComicBook.com with an exclusive preview of Darth Vader #22, from writer Kieron Gillen and artist Salvador Larroca.

This issue sees Darth Vader - now back in the good graces of his master, Emperor Palpatine – in pursuit of his rival turned traitor, the scientist Cylo. Unfortunately for Vader, he will have to go through Tulon Voidgazer to get to Cylo, and that means doing battle against Tulon's cyberanimate rancor!

Elsewhere, the murderous droids BeeTee and Triple-Zero have recovered Dr. Aphra, Vader's secret minion, and are returning her to their master.

Set not long after the destruction of the Death Star in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope,the preview pages below show the Dark Lord of the Sith in combat with the murderous rancor, mirroring the battle between Vader's son, Luke Skywalker, and the rancor kept at Jabba the Hutt's palace in Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.

Marvel Comics recently announced that the Darth Vader comic book series will reach its conclusion with Darth Vader #25.
