Han Solo and Chewbacca are making new friends as photos from the set of the Han Solo standalone Star Wars movie shows Woody Harrelson with the two iconic characters.

Or perhaps it's actually an old friend since the Han Solo movie is a prequel to the original trilogy. Harrelson is playing Beckett, the scoundrel who mentored Han Solo, who is played by Alden Ehrenreich in the new movie. The photos can be seen over at TMZ.

The scene in the photos looks like it's being shot on the set of a space station. Beckett, Han, and Chewie also meet with a female character, though it is unclear in the photo if this is Emilia Clarke's character.

The photos are said to have been taken while Phil Lord and Chris Miller were still directing the film and before they departed over creative differences and were replaced by Ron Howard.

The untitled Han Solo standalone Star Wars movie currently has a 3.20 out of 5 ComicBook.com User Anticipation Rating. Let us know how excited you are for the Han Solo movie by giving the film your own personal ComicBook.com User Anticipation Rating below.

The young Han Solo movie is currently on a break from production. The film is said to combine the space setting of the Star Wars franchise with the feel or a traditional Western.

The Han Solo movie is being produced by Lucasfilm from a screenplay by Lawrence and Jon Kasdan and will be distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is the second standalone Star Wars movie following Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in 2016.

Set prior to the events of Han Solo's first appearance in Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, the film stars Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Joonas Suotamo. The film is said to show how Han Solo and Chewbacca, first met Lando Calrissian, played by Glover.

Filming on the Han Solo movie began in January 2017 with Phil Lord and Christopher Miller directing. Principal photography began at Pinewood Studios in February. Lord and Miller left the Han Solo movie in June, having reportedly been fired over creative differences. Ron Howard will come on as the director to see the production to completion.

The still untitled Han Solo is currently scheduled to be released on May 25, 2018.
