Ron Howard Shows Off All-New Alien On Set Of Han Solo Spin-Off

On the sets of many films, members of the cast and crew must keep the utmost secrecy about those projects on social media, making sure as to not reveal details about the film shoot to the public without the studio's permission. However, if you're Ron Howard and you're directing the Star Wars spin-off focusing on Han Solo, the rules seem to be different.

In the director's latest social media hint at the project, we glimpse a crowded scene full of members of the film's crew, with a strange alien creature sitting over in the corner.

The creature appears to have large hands and wears what we can assume is some sort of helmet, but it's unclear if this headwear is necessary to the creature's survival.

Ever since Howard took over directorial duties from Phil Lord and Chris Miller earlier this year, he has regularly teased fans with a variety of photos and videos from the set. The peeks at the film started off quite innocuous, merely displaying a trash can or bottles of water, only to grow increasingly more interesting.

Of his more recent reveals, Howard gave fans a view of Chewbacca looking at a monitor to review a scene that had been shot, which revealed two Wookiees in a close embrace. Howard followed up the image of the Wookiee with a glimpse of Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian piloting the Millenium Falcon.

The behind-the-scenes looks have extended past just Howard, with star Emilia Clarke recently celebrating 10 million Instagram followers by posting a video of Chewbacca roaring, played by Joonas Suotamo.

We can only assume that, with the directorial shake-up causing some fans to worry, Lucasfilm has encouraged these playful looks behind the scenes in hopes of assuaging fans' fears.

You can check out the untitled Han Solo film when it lands in theaters May 25, 2018.
