Fantasy Flight Games has announced Rise of the Empire, the first expansion for the Star Wars: Rebellion board game.

The Rise of the Empire expansion is inspired by Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the first ever Star Wars standalone movie that told of how the Rebel Alliance stole the plans for the Death Star.

Rise of the Empire will introduce new heroes, villains, ships, troopers, and vehicles from Rogue One, as well as additional characters, events, and ships from the Star Wars: Rebels animated series.

In total, Rise of the Empire will offer eight new leaders, thirty-six plastic miniatures, five target markers, two attachment rings, three new dice, and more than one-hundred new cards.

In Star Wars: Rebellion replicates the struggle for control of the Star Wars galaxy by allowing players to control either the Galactic Empire or the Rebel Alliance, commanding starships, ordering troops, and rallying systems. The base Star Wars: Rebellion set includes more than 150 plastic miniatures and two game boards featuring thirty-two systems from the Star Wars galaxy.
