When Star Wars Rebels picks up in season 3 this Fall, we'll see the spotlight at least temporarily shift from the Jedi characters on the show, Kanan and Ezra, and give us some more background on one of the most mysterious characters, Sabine. Voiced by Tiya Sircar, we got a sliver of Sabine's backstory during season two, with more information about her family (the incredibly-important-to-the-Clone-Wars Clan Vizsla) and some hints about what sent her on the path to Rebellion. However, we don't know her full history with the crew, her recruitment, what life is like on Mandalore at this point, a decade and a half after Darth Maul and Deathwatch's reign of terror, and much more.

Well, at least some answers to those questions are coming in season three, as was teased at Star Wars Celebration Europe. There, we saw a clip showing Sabine - jet pack and all - fighting off several other Mandalorians (with Ezra's help), and in the trailer saw her talking to an older man who expressed he was proud of her.

"I feel like [showrunner] Dave [Filoni] maybe clued me into things with Sabine in season 3 earlier than in seasons past. He's talked me through more, to give me a better understanding of what's to come, which is awesome, because there is more to come. That's exciting for me," Sircar told Comicbook.com when asked about how much she knew now about her backstory. "I have a better understanding of who Sabine is, and I'm excited as a fan to see her experience those things and also encounter people from her past, which as I said yesterday, she might be related to some of them!"

She's excited and impressed that Filoni and his team have juggled every character's storyline, and recognized an opportunity for Sabine within that chaos.

"I feel like, with what's happening in our world now, stakes are higher for everyone: Kanan can't see, Ezra has this internal battle between the dark side and the light side [of the Force], and the Ahsoka and Vader fight, obviously [affected everyone]," the actress said. "Sabine is having to be pressed into this leadership position, which I think she is happy to assume, but it's a lot of pressure she hasn't yet experienced. Then there's that backstory that comes into play. It's been exciting, but she's got a lot more going on, so there's a lot more responsibility to treat it with care."

Of course, fans who saw the trailer or attended the panel at the show in London (or you know, are reading this and see it above) know that at some point this season, she gets the mysterious and ancient weapon that belongs to Clan Vizsla, the Darksaber. She didn't make any lightsaber sounds herself, and couldn't remember if, like her co-stars Freddie Prinze, Jr. and Taylor Gray have mentioned doing in the past, hold anything in her hands like a pencil or rolled-up sheet of paper. She does remember, however, being completely taken aback when she found out she was getting the weapon.

"People have been asking me on twitter if I was holding something or making my own darksaber sounds. Freddie has a cool thing, where he does something tactile whenever he has a lightsaber in Kanan's hands. I don't remember what I did, I know I had to steady myself because I was like 'Oh my God this is happening! Why do I have the darksaber? What do I do with it?" she said with a laugh.

As for Filoni, he didn't want to talk too much about those Mandalorians in the trailer, who according to narration are working for the Empire. He did tease to Comicbook.com, however, that "Mandalorians are very selfish, they're very self-interested... you'll see."

Star Wars Rebels returns this fall on Disney XD.
