New Creatures From Star Wars: The Last Jedi Revealed

06/10/2017 09:14 pm EDT

Each new entry in the Star Wars saga contributes even more to the already vast universe. More characters, more ships, more weapns, and more creatures highlight every new release, and Star Wars: The Last Jedi doesn't appear to break that trend.

While we don't know much about director Rian Johnson's followup to The Force Awakens, we do know a little bit about Rey's time training with Luke Skywalker. She tracks the Jedi hermit down to a planet called Ahch-To, home to an ancient temple.

Some set videos and photos from the set in Dunmore Head, Ireland while filming the latest Star Wars film hinted that there would be a new alien species featured in some of the scenes set on Ahch-To—these details were backed up when Johnson revealed in the Vanity Fair profile that Luke was living among the peaceful creatures.

Star Wars News Net has reportedly seen the creatures but were unable to capture a photograph of the practical costumes. They did, however, commission an artist to render a visual aid, providing our best look yet at how the creatures will appear ahead of their debut in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

If you don't want to be spoiled for anything regarding The Last Jedi before you get to see it for yourself, well, this is your last chance.

But seriously, why are you here if that's the case?

The drone photos make it seem like they are hairy, oddly shaped creatures, even though it's not the best quality. This photo backs it up. But whether their faces have tendrils or if those are strands of hair remains to be seen.

Hopefully we learn more about the creatures—and their purpose—as we get closer to Star Wars: The Last Jedi's release date on December 15.
