New Star Wars Book Details Opening Scenes of The Last Jedi

Don't say Mark Hamill and Rian Johnson didn't warn you, because spoilers are starting to trickle out regarding the latest Star Wars movie.

Thanks to a new children's book, we might have some new details about what happens in the beginning of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

The new information comes from Star Wars Look and Find, an activity book for kids (via Star Wars News Net). There are two separate spreads in the book pertaining to the upcoming Star Wars film and one in particular features an explosive battle between the First Order and Resistance forces led by Poe Dameron.

The book states:

Meanwhile, Poe is busy doing some persuading of his own. He and BB-8 are making runs through the First Order's latest assault fleet to clear the way for the Resistance bomber squadron, headed by ace pilot Paige. BB-8 will keep the coordinates straight. You look out for these First Order ships.

With The Last Jedi picking up right where Star Wars: The Force Awakens left off, we know the Resistance base has been located on D'Qar and that Starkiller was aimed right at it before being destroyed.

It seems like the First Order will waste no time after suffering a huge military defeat, rousing their starships and taking the fight to the Resistance's front door. We've already seen clips of some epic space battles from the trailer, and Star Wars movies typically open with a scene set in space.

With the eighth installment in the saga still months away, we cannot confirm if these spoilers are true but given that they are from an officially licensed product it's not out of the question.

But that's the nature of the beast for a franchise as popular as Star Wars. If you don't want to learn anything about the film ahead of its release, you might want to stay off the internet and away from retail stores once Force Friday hits.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters December 15.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is the second film in the new Star Wars sequel trilogy that began with Star Wars: The Force Awakens in 2015. The film will deal with Luke training Rey to become a, and possibly the last, Jedi. Meanwhile, the Resistance, including Poe Dameron and First Order defector Finn, continues to fight against the First Order, led by General Hux, while Supreme Leader Snoke and his Dark Side follower Kylo Ren continue their mysterious plot.
